Exhibition
During the Abierto Mexicano de Diseño 2018 (Mexican Design Open), Archivo Moda Mexicana (Mexican Fashion Archive) presented the first fashion pavilion under a museum exhibition that brought together around 40 contemporary mexican designers, who work on fashion, jewellery and accessories.
The exhibition entitled "Moda Local" emphasized local talent on four axes that encompassed the tour: Community and Society, Materials, Silhouette and Construction, Updates and New Uses.

Community and Society
The first room explored the work of designers who expose fashion as a creative means to generate new discourses and themes that encompass the fashion industry for decades, from issues of gender, identity or ethnicity, to social and cultural issues.
Materials
This room exhibited the various raw and synthetic materials that characterize the work of Mexican designers. From materials such as plastic or vinyl, to natural fibers such as cotton and linen, treated responsibly to minimize environmental impact.
Silhouette and Construction
The third room integrated pieces with atypical and experimental design proposals. Garments with technological accessories that invites the creative industry to explore more closely the use of smart garments and textiles.
Updates and New Uses
The last room of the tour showed a new generation of designers who seek to give a twist to everyday objects, in order to transfer them to a contemporary context, which gives rise to a phenomenon of updating and resignification.
